Wikiepediaから辿って、Physical Review Letterの投稿規定を読むと、/を使った
表記について以下の注意書きがある。

(e) When slashing fractions, respect the following con- ventions. In mathematical formulas this is the accepted order of operations:
(1) raising to a power,
(2) multiplication,
(3) division,
(4) addition and subtraction.
According to the same conventions, parentheses indi-
cate that the operations within them are to be performed before what they contain is operated upon. Insert paren- theses in ambiguous situations. For example, do not write a/b/c; write in an unambiguous form, such as
or
as appropriate.
(a/b)/c
a/(b/c),

とあるね。これだと、単に掛け算が割り算に優先している。
×と・をベクトル積以外の演算子として使うことを原則禁止しているので、
乗算は「暗黙の乗算」がデフォになっちゃうからなんだろうね。
でもって、割り算が連続する場合はa/b/c　って表現は禁止で、（）をつけて
(a/b)/cかa/(b/c)のどちらかに明確化せよとある。

つまり左側優先のルールは完全に無視されてるんだよね。

ってことで、所変われば品変わる。気をつけたいものだね。
