たかし君が家から学校に出来るだけ速く行くにはどのようなルートで歩けば良いでしょう？

湖の中心ほど速度が落ちる船の問題と同じ

（解答）
犬が真ん中にいれば半円上を移動。
真ん中以外なら、犬を一定の方角に見ながら
らせんを描くように移動する。

（証明）
犬の位置、スタート、ゴールの座標を
O(0, 0), A(-a, 0), B(b, 0) とおく。

点P(r cos(θ), r sin(θ)) がAからBまでの
任意の曲線を、原点からの距離に比例する速さ
v＝kr で動くとき、
r と θ を座標軸に持つ別の平面で
Pの位置に対応する点Q(θ, log(r)) を考えると
Qの動く速度は k で常に等しい。

Qの始点をA'(－π/2, log(a)), 終点をB'(π/2, log(b))
とおくと、最短距離は直線A'B'
y=((log(b/a))/π)x+((log(b/a))/2)
であり、もとの平面でこれに対応して
AとBを結ぶらせん状の曲線
log(r)=(log(b/a))((θ+(π/2))/π)
が定まる。
a=b のときはそれぞれ
直線 y=0、半円 r=a, -π/2≦θ≦π/2 となる。（終）
