そうして中国語により論文が書かれて、他の国々は自動翻訳機を
使って中国語の論文を自国語などに翻訳してそれを読むということになるのかも
しれない。各国からの中国への留学組が帰国して学問の覇権を握って、
中国と緊密な連絡や関係を取り持ち、最優秀な学者は中国に招聘されて
活躍し、能力が落ちたら過去の業績を携えて母国に戻ってポジションを占める
というような傾向が強まるのではなかろうか。

This book originates from a course on the theory of several complex variables
given by Prof. Hironaka at Kyoto University in 1977. Some fundamental
theorems in the theory of several complex variables and of the geometry of
complex manifolds are proved in a simple but rigorous form.
In Part 1, extending the Weierstrass preparation theorem, the authors prove
the existence of the system of privileged neighborhoods for ideals of analytic
functions. In Part 2, they prove Oka's coherence theorem and Cartan's
Theorems A and B and state the theory of analytic sheaves and its cohomology
theory.
Throughout this book one recognizes again the importance of the
preparation theorem, and one finds good introductions to the study of
the advanced theory of Stein spaces, the works of A. Douady [Ann. Inst.
Fourier (Grenoble) 16 (1966), no. 1, 1–95; MR0203082], and the theory
of the resolution of singularities, to which Hironaka has contributed deeply.

国際的評価を優先しつつ
先駆的な試みへの
識者の意見を参考にするとよい
とりあえずICMの招待講演者は
優遇しておいたほうがよいのではなかろうか
