Major Conjecture Submissions. The Journal of Number Theory receives a large number of submissions claiming proofs or disproofs of major results such as Fermat's Last Theorem, the Goldbach Conjecture, the Riemann Hypothesis, Twin Primes, Binary Goldbach, the 3x+1 Problem, the Odd Perfect Number Problem, etc. These submissions will be considered by the Editorial Board, and if they appear implausible, the submissions will be rejected quickly. It is incumbent upon authors to provide convincing proofs, and not upon the Journal to find errors.
