ツキノワグマの原形ポジウムはエノミテキウスと
言われていますが近年研究の進歩によりアンガリウムが原形ポジウムでは
ないかと言われてきています。原始動物の権威、稲木教授も
アンガリウムが原形ポジウムではないかと言っています。
アンガリウムは本来ねずみの一種なのですがなんと
ゲンケとの生殖活動によりツキノワグマに似た生物が生まれることが分かりました。
そのツキノワグマに似た生物はキロプテスと言われています。
キロプテスはツキノワグマより一回り小さいサイズですが首の三日月マークはあります。
しかしキロプテスはツキノワグマより凶暴で虎と戦い見事に勝ちその肉を食らうという
意外な一面も見せており、我々研究チームは多々、驚くばかりです
近年大型のアムール虎の雄が複数、非常に大きな熊(熊側は無傷らしい)にされている

ライオンとヒグマは共にインドに生息しているが、ライオンは南東部のギル森林だけに、ヒグマは北部のカシミール地方だけに生息しているので自然界で出会う事は有り得ない。
しかし、この2種の猛獣には、闘技場における闘いの歴史があり、その結果は意外にも一方的なものとなっている。 闘技場の闘いで最も有名なのは西部開拓時代にカリフォルニアで行われた試合だろう。
ヒグマの亜種であるグリズリーは生け捕りにされ、賭けの対象として闘牛と闘わされる事が度々あったが、グリズリーが圧倒的に強かったため賭けが成り立たなくなってしまった。
そこでアフリカから百獣の王である雄のライオンを取り寄せる事にしたのである。ライオンの方が前評判が高かったが、実際に闘わせて見るとグリズリーは闘牛を殺すのと同じように突進して来たライオンの頭を叩き割ってしまった。
あまりにもあっけ無い決着だったので、観客は何が起こったのか直ぐには判らなかったと伝えられている。
これに類するものとしては、ロサンゼルスで捕えられたグリズリーがメキシコのモンテレーへ送られ、パーネルと呼ばれる雄ライオンを闘った例がある。 この時も「ネコがネズミを扱うように」容易くライオンが殺されてしまったと伝えられてる。

また、ロンドンの王立野獣園でもライオンとヒグマの闘いが行われていた。王立野獣園は１３世紀から１９世紀の間に存在し、タワー動物園とも呼ばれていたが、ここでは時の権力者の気まぐれによって動物同士の闘いが行われていた。

この様な極端な結果となっているのは意外な事だが、 ライオンが生息しているアフリカにはライオンに匹敵する肉食獣が他に存在しないのに対し、
ヒグマが生息するシベリアにはトラが、北米には今は絶滅してしまったがカリフォルニアライオンやスミロドン等の大形肉食獣が生息しいた。 そういった環境の中で必然的にヒグマは肉食獣に対抗しうる存在になったのだろう。
